By subscribing to and accessing Power & Accountability, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our content, subscriptions, and related services through the Substack platform. Please read them carefully.

1. Overview

Power & Accountability is an independent publication curated by contributors affiliated with The American Anti-Corruption Institute (AACI). It provides strategic anti-corruption insights, policy analysis, and leadership-focused content for reform-minded individuals and institutions.

Subscribing to our publication—whether free or paid—constitutes your agreement to these Terms.


2. Subscription Tiers

Free Subscribers

As a free subscriber, you will receive:

  • Public posts and official blog summaries

  • Access to select announcements and editorial previews

  • A 10% discount on the CACM Self-Study Program

Paid Subscribers

As a paid subscriber, you will receive:

  • Two exclusive, subscriber-only posts per month

  • Full access to our article archive

  • A 20% discount on the CACM Self-Study Program

Founding Members

Founding members receive:

  • All paid subscriber benefits

  • A 50% discount on the CACM Self-Study Program

  • Priority access to selected features and future privileges


3. Intellectual Property

All content published through Power & Accountability—including articles, graphics, data, and downloadable materials—is the intellectual property of the editorial team or The American Anti-Corruption Institute (AACI), unless otherwise stated.

You may not:

  • Reproduce, republish, or distribute any paywalled or subscriber-only content without written permission

  • Use our materials for commercial or training purposes without explicit licensing

4. Refunds & Cancellations

All subscriptions to Power & Accountability—including paid and founding member tiers—grant immediate access to exclusive digital content, including premium posts, strategic briefings, and resource archives.

As such, we do not offer automatic refunds once a subscription is processed.

That said, we understand that circumstances may change. Refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, particularly in instances involving:

  • Duplicate charges

  • Accidental multi-tier purchases

  • Immediate cancellations after signup with no access used

If you believe you qualify for a refund, please contact us within 7 days of the transaction at info@theaaci.com with your Substack receipt and reason for the request.

Please note:

  • Refunds are not issued for partially used subscription periods.

  • Discounts and access used prior to cancellation are non-refundable.

  • All decisions are final and at the sole discretion of the editorial team.


5. Code of Conduct

We welcome reader engagement through comments and referrals. However, we expect respectful, constructive interaction at all times. Harassment, abuse, or promotion of misinformation will result in revocation of access without refund.
